Soooo finally after many issues my beloved HP laptop appropriately named Scar bit the bullet for the 3rd and last time. It was getting frustrating having my computer continuously crashing on me...but luckily my warrenty stated that after the 4th major repair I'd receive a refund of my money that could be used towards a new and improved laptop. I'd had 5 major repairs so technically I shoulda gotten my refund a few months earlier when Scar chose to crash for the second time 2 weeks after it had been repaired the first time...but the store screwed up so I was highly pessimistic towards whether I'd ever get my money back.

BUT LO AND BEHOLD IT FINALLY HAPPENED *does a little dance* sure Scar kept me going for 2 years...but it was his time so lets have a moment of silence. I shall always remember you and treasure our time together oh beloved Scar. lol.

so yes i was quite happy saturday when i went to the store and was able to pick out from their extensive collection of laptops. of course i didnt really need to browse since id been planning what i wanted to get for a very long time...ever since Scar started showing signs of near death. I was gonna get a Mac.

I've always heard good things about Macs so I figured I'd give it a try. I mean from what all my now fellow Mac owners have told me, theyre virtually indestructible. I mean unless you drop em which is pretty understandable. I'd break if I was dropped too. Depending on the height of course.

So I went to the Mac counter, said I wanted a Macbook, got said Macbook, along with the iworks software that I needed to do my many and numerous college assignments, then proceeded to browse the aisle specifically designed for Mac products.

And thats when I saw it.

An artist's dream...or at least my dream. A tablet to use with my Mac computer!

I was like a puppy wiggling about because someone was waving a strip of bacon in its face. I've always wanted a tablet so badly. actually originally I wanted a tablet PC...you know those fancy laptops with the screens that flip and spin around and then let you draw or write on them like a notebook or a sketch pad. but those were way outta my price range. at least till i got a good paying job...and lets face it, im in college so all my moneys goign towards books and tuition and food and gas for my car.

This tablet was called a Bamboo tablet. I wasn't sure how good it was though the store worker that was helping us said they were really neat and I couldnt help but agree. I was bouncing around like a rubber ball...and when my mother (who was with me at the time) said I could get it as an early birthday present I almost peed myself in excitement. I mean a brand new laptop and a tablet all in one day. and the thing was 200 bucks so it wasnt like it was a cheap early gift.

Alltogether we spent around 1600 bucks...though luckily 1000 of it was covered by my refund and warrenty. the other 600 belonged to the tablet and the other various items, software, a case, and a laptop fan, that I decided to get to help me take good care of it. Thank god for the Best Buy credit card I was approved for that same day ^_^

I'm such a shopaholic but what can I say. It was a very nice day.

I named my Mac Monroe. I dont quite know why. It just seemed like a Monroe. Sounded punkish and artsy and rocker like.

Thus Monroe will be my new means of creating...asides from my own hands of course.

what an adventure!! woot!
